Fabrics used by Zentauron

The technical fabrics used in Zentauron products must meet a number of requirements. Our products must be robust and durable so that they meet the requirements and standards of our customers. The fabric commonly known under the brand name Cordura fulfills all these requirements and is therefore used by us.

Technical delivery conditions and Mil Spec

Nevertheless, there are differences in colors and camouflage prints. This is mainly due to the regulations that the armies have defined for themselves as specifications. At Zentauron, we therefore differentiate between the "Technical Delivery Conditions" (abbreviated TL) of the German Armed Forces and the American military standard MIL-SPEC. These specifications determine the properties that the fabric must have for the respective requirements in order to withstand daily use in military service. As a manufacturer, we process these military-grade materials and also adhere to the TL when it comes to processing for military equipment.

What is technical fabric?

Professional tactical equipment consists of so-called technical fabric. The term is intended to suggest that it is primarily used for its technical and functional properties. This fabric is used for plate carriers, protective vests, rucksacks and various equipment bags.

Our technical fabric is made from the high-performance fiber polyamide 6.6. To ensure high resistance in military use, the fabric has a PU coating on the back and an FC impregnation on the front. The PU coating (polyurethane) ensures that the fabric is impermeable to water and therefore has a decisive effect on the water column of the fabric. The FC impregnation (fluorocarbon) on the front is water, oil and dirt repellent.

The camouflage

When it comes to camouflage printing on the fabric, there are important features to fulfill.
The camouflage pattern must not only be optimally adapted to its surroundings in terms of camouflage effect during the day, but also at night. To ensure good camouflage even under night vision conditions, the fabric or print is IRR-equipped.

Spot camouflage

The five-color pattern of the German Bundeswehr is referred to as Flecktarn in our online store. The camouflage effect is ideal for use in wooded areas in Central and Northern Europe. The standard pattern of the German Armed Forces consists of black, bronze-green, rust-brown and yellow-green patches on an olive-grey background.

Tropical camouflage

With the 3-color color print, also known as tropical camouflage or desert camouflage of the German Armed Forces, a camouflage print has been created that is used in steppes or desert-like regions.

6-color camouflage print

This camouflage print has been introduced relatively recently in the German Armed Forces and is currently reserved for the KSK (Special Forces Command). The 6-color camouflage print is not available for the open market.

Stone gray-olive

Commonly known as "NATO olive" or "NATO green" and officially referred to by the Bundeswehr as "stone gray olive", this textile dye is similar to RAL shade 7013. In Germany, the color is used by the German Armed Forces, Federal Police and SEK units.

Coyote

Coyote brown has a wide range of applications. This color is used in tactical equipment, from plate carriers to bags for everyday use (Every Day Carry). This color is not only found in operations, it is also popular in the leisure sector. This brown has a camouflage effect in urban areas and desert regions.

Multicam

Multicam was originally developed for the American army. In the meantime, however, this camouflage print has found its way into many other armies and also to end users. The Multicam pattern is used in steppes, mountains, deserts and wooded environments. It has a wide application of locations, situations and operating conditions. Its high-tech pattern shapes and sizes work hand in hand with a unique color profile (shades of brown, green and brown) to affect the visual features and IR signature at close range.

Multicam black

This black Multicam pattern originated with law enforcement agencies in the USA. The aim was to create a striking appearance in special situations and high-risk environments. The Multicam Black pattern is worn by special police forces. Multicam Black is a camouflage pattern that is becoming increasingly widespread in civilian areas.

ATACS FG

ATACS FG is a camouflage print designed for use in zones with a temperate climate. The pattern incorporates characteristic environmental elements and shapes found in greener, temperate environments. Numerous shades of green are combined with various earth tones taken directly from forest and transitional landscapes. This camouflage print is mainly used for military equipment.

The M05 military camouflage pattern is used by the Finnish Armed Forces on uniforms and other equipment. The pattern is licensed by the Finnish Armed Forces and has been available to the public since September 26, 2016.

CONCAMO

CONCAMO Green is a camouflage system based on the psychology of perception. The system is based on the observation and evaluation of forms found in nature. The printed fabric consists of 25 layers, which are arranged on top of each other to create a chaotic illusion. The aim of camouflage printing is to trick the subconscious by recognizing natural shapes. This universal camouflage pattern has a good to very good camouflage effect in a variety of green-brown areas.

Black is a universal color that has a firm place in both business and leisure areas. Black is used for equipment for police, security and safety services. Black has particular advantages for operations and actions at night. The equipment is also ideal for use in civilian life, for example the backpack in black is a classic.

Zentauron uses the color red in its civilian rescue series for the emergency services. The bright red clearly indicates that this is equipment for the rescue services.
