Low profile Plate Carrier

The Vulcan Minimal plate carrier is a minimized plate carrier that can be used both as an undercoat carrier and as an overcoat carrier. The flat dimensions allow it to be worn inconspicuously under jackets. Depending on whether it is equipped with hard- or softballsitik, protection of the chest and back region against bullet and stab impact is possible. The Vulcan Minimal is in its basic configuration a carrying system and optionally extended with ballistics. The compact design of the Minimal makes it particularly suitable for concealed carry and for use from vehicles. The plate carrier can also be expanded with magazine pouches and various flaps. Four different sizes are available for an optimal fit.

Compared to the plate carriers of our Vulcan series, it has very compact dimensions. Depending on the size of the plate compartment, it takes protective plates and soft ballistics. Various combinations are possible.

Cummerbund

With the help of the cummerbunds, the plate carrier can be continuously adjusted to the body circumference. The cummerbunds consist of a 10cm wide elastic band, which has Velcro on the front and back for fastening to the plate pocket. The elastic cummerbund is very flat and tight fitting.

Depending on the length of the cummerbund, three or four pockets are integrated. This means that radios, M4 magazines or similar items can be stowed firmly and within easy reach on each side. Optionally, additional items can be secured with safety kits.

Size and waist circumference

In terms of waist circumference, this plate carrier covers the range from 85 to 115 cm. Two sizes are available in this range:

    Cummerbund 3 Mag = 85 cm to 100 cm.

    Cummerbund 4 Mag = 100 cm to 115 cm

Plate pockets and ballistics

The plate pockets of the Vulcan Minimal are available in size M and L. These sizes are based on the standards of SAPI ballistics. The plate pocket M corresponds to the dimensions 25cm x 30cm. The size L is designed for ballistics with the dimensions 27cm x 33cm. The ballistic inserts or plates are simply slid into the plate pocket and secured with Velcro.

• Size M takes a hard ballistics up to a build up height of 2 cm or the soft ballistics.
• Size L holds one hard ballistic and one soft ballistic or one standalone plate.

When the Vulcan Minimal is used as an overlay plate carrier, various components can be attached to the plate pockets. Pads can be attached to the inside via Velcro to increase carrying comfort. Shoulder pads can also be attached. For identification via ID patches, a Velcro area is sewn onto the front and back.
For the mounting of further adapters or Molle receptacles, there are two vertical and one horizontal Molle loops on the front plate pocket. There are also large Velcro areas. Here various Molle adapters, magazine pouches, magazine panels can be attached individually.
